Thunder in the Park

In the heart of Moody, where neighbors know one another by name and community means something deeply personal, a summer night each July transforms into something extraordinary. What begins as laughter, music, and the glow of food truck lights becomes, by evening’s end, a powerful tribute to courage, sacrifice, and unity. This is Thunder in the Park. This year Thunder in the Park will carry an even more special spirit as we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the birth of The United States of America. We look back on our past as well as to our next 250 years with anticipation of what our great Nation can continue to accomplish. We also want to recognize our Grant Partner America250AL Community Grant for helping us make this year’s celebration possible.

Kids Americana Bike Parade

As part of Thunder in the Park 2026, on Saturday July 11th at 5pm, we are excited to offer our first ever Kids Patriotic Bike Parade. Children 0-12 are welcome to participate. They will be lined up according to age and those with an adult walking with them will be in the last group.

We encourage children to decorate bikes and tricycles in patriotic decor. Bikes and tricycles only will be permitted for riding with strollers and wagons allowed with an adult.

Full rules can be found here or pinned at the top of our Facebook Page City of Moody. We want to thank America250AL Community Grant for helping make this portion of the event possible.
